Quick Answers

Everything you need to know before reaching out. Still have a question? Send us a message — every inquiry gets a personal response.

Ordering & Getting Started
Fill out the contact form with your project details — what you need, what material, how many, and any dimensions or reference files you have. We'll respond with pricing within 24 hours. No commitment required to ask.
No. A sketch on paper, a photo of something similar, rough dimensions, or even just a clear written description is enough to start. Design work is part of the process. If you do have DXF, DWG, STEP, STL, or PDF files, those help speed things up — but they're not required.
For custom work, there is no minimum. Single parts and one-off prototypes are welcome. For wholesale pricing tiers, the minimum is 25 units per SKU. Individual retail purchases of stocked products have no minimums either.
Within 24 hours on business days (Monday–Friday). Most quotes come back the same day. Complex projects with many parts may take a little longer to estimate accurately.
The more detail the better: what the part is, what it needs to do, preferred material, quantity, target dimensions, and any reference images or files. If you're ordering for a specific application (a boat model, a car year/make, a shelf dimension), include that too. It helps us quote accurately without back-and-forth.
Pricing & Payment
Custom quotes factor in material cost, machine time (based on cut complexity and run time), and setup. Simple flat cuts from a customer-supplied file are often very affordable. Complex 3D carving, large sheets, or exotic materials cost more. We'll always give you an itemized quote before any work begins — no surprises.
Design time for new projects is quoted as part of the job. If you provide a ready-to-cut file (DXF, DWG, SVG), setup is minimal and the quote reflects that. Repeat orders from existing files are typically faster and cheaper because the setup is already done.
For stocked products, we accept all major cards via Stripe. For custom and wholesale orders, payment is due at time of order confirmation. We can invoice via Stripe for business accounts. Cash and check accepted for local pickups.
Yes. Wholesale pricing tiers start at 25 units per SKU with savings of 5–50% off retail depending on volume. See the Wholesale page for tier details, or contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Production & Lead Times
Most orders ship within 5–10 business days from order confirmation. Simple single-part custom jobs often turn around faster. Large wholesale runs or complex 3D carving may take longer. Rush orders are available when our production schedule allows — ask about it when you request a quote.
Absolutely. Single prototypes and proof-of-concept parts are one of the things we do best. Many customers start with one part to verify fit and finish before ordering in volume. There's no penalty for this — it's the smart way to order.
Reorders are kept on file. Once we've run your part once, repeat orders are typically faster and sometimes cheaper because the setup work is already done. Just reach out with your order details and quantity.
Our CAMaster Cobra CR-510 holds tolerances of ±0.005" on most cuts in wood and plastics. Tolerances can vary by material — harder plastics and composites tend to be more precise than wood, which can move slightly with humidity. We'll flag any tolerance concerns at the quoting stage.
Materials
We cut a wide range of materials: hardwoods (oak, walnut, maple, mahogany), plywood, MDF, HDPE, acrylic, Delrin/POM, carbon fiber, G10 fiberglass, foam, and more. See the Capabilities page for the full material list with typical use cases.
Yes, in most cases. If you have a specific material source or need an exact spec, you're welcome to supply the sheet stock. Just confirm dimensions and thickness when you inquire so we can verify it works with our setup.
Light aluminum work is possible on a case-by-case basis. For heavy steel or structural metals, CNC routing isn't the right fit — we'll tell you upfront if a material isn't a good match and point you toward the right process.
Shipping & Pickup
Both. Local pickup is available at our shop in North Charleston, SC (at High and Dry Boatworks). We also ship anywhere in the country via UPS or FedEx Ground. Freight shipping is available for large or heavy orders.
Standard UPS/FedEx Ground shipping is 3–7 business days depending on your location. Expedited options are available at additional cost. We'll provide tracking once your order ships.
Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos of the damage. We stand behind every shipment and will make it right — either a replacement or a refund, depending on what works best for you.
Custom Work & Wholesale
Yes. Logo engraving, white-label branding, and custom dimensional text are all available. Provide your logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, DXF, or SVG) for the cleanest result. We can also work from a high-resolution PNG in most cases.
Yes. We work with retailers and distributors to develop new SKUs from scratch — from initial concept to production-ready files to ongoing fulfillment. Start with a conversation about what you need and we'll tell you if it's a fit.
Describe the project and we'll give you an honest answer. CNC routing is excellent for flat profiles, pockets, engravings, and 3D surface work in wood, plastics, and composites. If another process (laser cutting, injection molding, 3D printing) would serve you better, we'll say so and point you in the right direction.
